Applesauce Cake
Makes 13×9″ or 2 – 9×9″ pans.
Ingredients
- 2 C. Sugar
- 1 C. Butter
- 2 large Eggs
- 3-4 C. Cooled Applesauce
- 2 heaping tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 C. Water
- 2 Tbsp. Vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. Salt
- 1 Tbsp. Cloves ground
- 1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. Ginger
- 2 Tbsp. Cocoa
- 2 C. Raisins
- 4 1/2 C. Flour sifted
Instructions
- Cream together: Sugar and butter.
- Add: Eggs and cooked applesauce.
- Dissolve Baking Soda in water and add to the first mixture.
- Then add: Vanilla, Salt, Clove, Cinnamon, Ginger and cocoa.
- Lastly, add: Raisins and flour. Mix to combine.
- Use large size bowl. bake 350°F 45-50 minutes. Test center with toothpick.
- Makes 13x9x2 and 9x9x2 pans well greased and floured.
