Best Ever Scones
Ingredients
- 2 C. All-Purpose Flour
- 1/3 C. Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 C. Cold Butter cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 1 C. Whipping Cream divided
- Wax Paper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Stir Together first 4 ingredients in a large bowl.
- Cut butter into four mixture with pastry knife until crumbly and mixture resembles small peas.
- Freeze mixture for 5 minutes.
- Add 3/4 C. plus 2 Tbsp. cream.
- Stir just until dry ingredients and moistened.
- Turn dough out onto wax paper; gently press or pat dough into a 7-inch round. (Dough is very crumbly)
- Cut into 8 wedges.
- Place wedges 2 inches apart on a lightly greased or lined baking sheet.
- Brush tops of wedges with remaining 2 Tbsp. cream, just until moistened.
- Bake at 450 for 13-15 minutes or until golden.
Notes
I like to add some course sugar on top of the scones before baking for some added texture and a pretty affect.
