Best Ever Scones

Ingredients
  

  • 2 C. All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/3 C. Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 C. Cold Butter cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 C. Whipping Cream divided
  • Wax Paper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Stir Together first 4 ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Cut butter into four mixture with pastry knife until crumbly and mixture resembles small peas.
  • Freeze mixture for 5 minutes.
  • Add 3/4 C. plus 2 Tbsp. cream.
  • Stir just until dry ingredients and moistened.
  • Turn dough out onto wax paper; gently press or pat dough into a 7-inch round. (Dough is very crumbly)
  • Cut into 8 wedges.
  • Place wedges 2 inches apart on a lightly greased or lined baking sheet.
  • Brush tops of wedges with remaining 2 Tbsp. cream, just until moistened.
  • Bake at 450 for 13-15 minutes or until golden.

Notes

I like to add some course sugar on top of the scones before baking for some added texture and a pretty affect.
