Cheese Sauce – Vegan
Very yummy vegan cheese sauce. Perfect for nachos!
Ingredients
- 1 C. Cooked Brown Rice
- 1 C. Hot Water plus more as needed to achieve desired consistency
- 3/4 C. Raw Cashews may use almonds but it will be less creamy
- 1/4 C. Carrots chopped and cooked
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. Nutritional Yeast Flakes
- 1 Tbsp. Fresh Lemon Juice about 1⁄2 a lemon
- 1 tsp. Onion Powder
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 3/4 tsp. Seasoning Salt
- 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
- splash of Frank’s Hot Sauce
Instructions
- In a blender, combine rice, water, nuts and carrots, process on high speed until smooth and creamy. May need to add more water depending on desired thickness.
- Add remaining ingredients and blend until well combined.
- To make NACHO sauce: add pickled jalapenos and some of the jalapeno juice in the final step and blend until combined then add some chopped jalapeno pieces.
