English Shortbread
Georgie's famous true English shortbread
Ingredients
- 8 oz. Butter
- 4 oz. Powdered Sugar
Cream together, then add:
- 8 oz. Flour
- 4 oz. Cornstarch
- pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Mix everything together.
- Press into the bottom of a greased and lined 8×8 baking dish.
- Bake at 350°F. for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cut while warm.
- Let cool on the counter.
- Once cooled, store in airtight container for up to a week on the counter.
This recipe also works well for a shortbread tart crust.
- Press dough into the bottom of a removable bottom tart-shell. Poke crust with fork several times to keep it from raising while baking.
- Bake the same as you would for cookies.
