English Toffee

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Lb. Butter
  • 2 C. Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Water
  • 1 1/2 C. Chopped Walnuts divided
  • 12 oz. Chocolate We use Milk Chocolate

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in heavy pan and let come to a boil.
  • Add sugar and water (water sprinkled on top of sugar).
  • Brown to the color of dark brown sugar, then add 1/2 C. Walnuts. (waiting for the sugar mixture to color takes a long while)
  • Grate one 12oz. bar of milk chocolate.
  • Put 1 C. chopped walnuts in bottom of cookie sheet then sprinkle chocolate over nuts.
  • Then pour the above mixture, while boiling, over chocolate and nuts.
  • Let cool.
  • Break into pieces. (then hide some pieces for later :P)
