Grammy’s Workable Pie Crust
Ingredients
- 4 C Four
- 1 3/4 C Vegetable Shortening
- 1 Tb Sugar
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 Tb Vinegar
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 C Cold Water
Instructions
- Mix together: flour, shortening, sugar and salt in a food processor or with a fork.
- Mix together: vinegar, egg and water then add to the dry ingredients.
- Pulse together until smooth dough forms.
- Roll dough into 4 balls cover and chill at least 15 minutes or up to 3 hours before rolling out.
Notes
This dough freezes really well. We like to separate it into single crust servings and cover in cling wrap and freeze.
If using frozen dough, take it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge the night before you want to use it o let it thaw.
