Kerstin’s Rustic Country Bread

"The perfect, no nonsense bread."

Ingredients
  

  • 3 C. Flour
  • tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Intant Yeast
  • C. water
  • Garlic and/or olives are optional

Instructions
 

  • Whisk dry ingredients together then stir in water till combined and place in lightly greased bowl.
  • Cover bowl with damp towel and allow to rise overnight or 12-18 hours on counter.
  • Preheat oven to 450°F.
  • Place cast iron pan in oven (allow 30 minutes for it to preheat)
  • Lightly grease hot pan or spray with Pam.
  • Roll dough into a ball place on a large piece of parchment paper (large enough to have edges taller than the pan) and carefully place in hot cast iron pan. Score the top of the bread to allow steam out.
  • Cover pan with lid and bake 30 minutes, then uncover and bake 15 minutes more.
  • Remove from pan and allow to cool at room temp before cutting.
