Steel-Cut (aka Irish) Oats
Ingredients
- 1 C. Steel-cut Oats
- 4 C. Water
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 C. Raisins optional
Instructions
- Rinse oats well, drain. Combine rinsed oats, water, salt (and raisins, if using) in a large, heavy-bottomed pan or slow-cooker.
- Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring frequently, until thick and creamy, about 30 minutes, (or several hours or overnight in a slow-cooker).
- Serve hot with cream.
