Butter Tarts – Grandma Sylvia’s recipe

Dad's favorite raisin/butter tarts

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 C. Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 C. Melted Butter or Margarine
  • Raisins or Currants – optional
  • Walnuts chopped small – optional, our Dad prefers them without nuts
  • 24 Pie Crust Tart Shells

Instructions
 

  • Fill shells with raisins, if using (not too full).
  • Pour above mixture over raisins; sprinkle with chopped nuts, if using.
  • Bake at 450° F for 10 minutes, then lower temperature to 350° F and bake for an additional 15-25 minutes till set and golden.
