Butter Tarts - Grandma Sylvia's recipe
Dad's favorite raisin/butter tarts
- 2 large Eggs
- 2 C. Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 C. Melted Butter or Margarine
- Raisins (well hydrated) or Currants - optional
- Walnuts chopped small - optional
- 24 Pie Crust Tart Shells
Fill shells with raisins, if using (not too full).
Pour above mixture over raisins (6 raisins per tart, hydrated first); sprinkle with chopped nuts, if using.
Bake at 450° F for 10 minutes, then lower temperature to 350° F and bake for an additional 15-25 minutes till set and golden.
