Very yummy vegan cheese sauce. Perfect for nachos!
Ingredients
1C.Cooked Brown Rice
1C.Hot Waterplus more as needed to achieve desired consistency
3/4C.Raw Cashewsmay use almonds but it will be less creamy
1/4C.Carrots chopped and cooked
2 1/2Tbsp.Nutritional Yeast Flakes
1Tbsp.Fresh Lemon Juiceabout 1⁄2 a lemon
1tsp.Onion Powder
1tsp.Salt
3/4tsp.Seasoning Salt
1/2tsp.Garlic Powder
splash of Frank’s Hot Sauce
Instructions
In a blender, combine rice, water, nuts and carrots, process on high speed until smooth and creamy. May need to add more water depending on desired thickness.
Add remaining ingredients and blend until well combined.
To make NACHO sauce: add pickled jalapenos and some of the jalapeno juice in the final step and blend until combined then add some chopped jalapeno pieces.
