Stir all ingredients together.
Cover. Let rest a couple of hours, or until about doubled in size.
Turn out onto floured board, and move the dough around with a spatula, adding flour until it's manageable to roll out.
Cut doughnuts to thickness desired.
Let raise/rest for "awhile" (until about half again as large)
Fry in hot oil, 375°F until golden brown, flipping half way through to brown on both sides.
Makes approx. 18 doughnuts or 12 maple bars.
