Ingredients

Water

Milk

C.
Quick Grits
not instant

tsp.
Salt

tsp.
Pepper

Extra Sharp Cheese
shredded
Instructions
Bring water to a boil in a heavy saucepan.
Add milk and re-heat. Slowly stir in the quick grits; add the slat and pepper.
Stir everything except the cheese together in a heavy pan; bring to a slow boil, stirring constantly until thickened and bubbly, about 5 minutes.
Reduce heat and cook, covered, another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in the cheese.
Serve hot with hot sauce to add as desired.
Notes
May make without the cheese, or may also add 1 beaten egg, turn into a buttered casserole dish and bake 25-30 min. till browned and bubbly.
