Bulgar: =pre-cooked and dried cracked wheat, makes about 3 cups

Bulgar
if using for savory dishes like pilafs or stuffings sauté the bulgar in olive oil before adding the liquids

Boiling Water
or broth

Salt
may omit if using broth
Instructions
Cracked Wheat:
Bring water to a boil and add salt; reduce to simmer. Cover and simmer for 15-30 minutes (depending on how chewy you like it), stirring occasionally.
Bulgar:
Pour boiling, salted water over the bulgar and wait for the grain to absorb the liquid.
