Bring water, salt and rice to a boil in a heavy pan; cover and reduce heat to simmer for 25 minutes or until moisture is absorbed and there are holes in the rice.
Do not uncover while cooking.
Remove from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes. Fluff rice with a fork and serve.
Notes
If using a rice cooker, use 1 1/2 c. rice, 2 c. water, 1 tsp salt.
